Pouches
A player carrying a M4 or MP5 in the field is going to need to reload or change magazines
at some point after surviving, or losing, a firefight. Magazines can be carried in pants pockets
along with bb's, spare change and bubble gum wrappers. Getting the magazine out swiftly
to put more ammunition down range is primary to accomplishing objectives, helping
a teammate get healed, or making sure the other guy gets it first. Pouches are designed
to carry magazines, grenades, speedloaders, beef jerky, and many other things players
find handy or simply indispensible in the field.
Pouches come in many flavors. Magazine pouches can come in anything from Black to Multicam to ACU
and beyond. Pouches attach in various methods to vests, belts, platforms, and chest rigs.
They use velcro, plastic buckles, snaps, cords, and flaps to secure magazines and accessories.
Placement and location of the pouches can make it a hassle or cake to reload under fire.
Try the pouches in different configurations until it works.
Vests
Vests are designed to be worn like a jacket without sleeves. Pouches are attached via alice clips or
straps to MOLLE webbing or other weaving on the vest. Some vests come with pouches already
affixed. The MOLLE allows pouches to be arranged in any configuration. Normally, MOLLE vests do not
come with any pouches.
Chest rigs are like vests except they hold a series of pouches on a belt which also has shoulder
straps and buckles to fasten it to one's torso.
