This airsoft beginner's guide has been written for players of any experience level. New players should find the it helpful in getting started with acquainted with the sport and choosing guns & gear. Veterans may pick up details they need, use it as a reference, or refer newbs to for the usual questions.

For Beginners
I suggest that you glance through the Airsoft Terms before exploring the beginners guide. The terms and acronyms are used throughout the guide and will help you converse with veteran players.

For Veterans
Utilize the outline to readily locate answers to specific topics. Feel free to bookmark or use this site as a reference for one's self or newbs that seem to ask the same questions.


The guide is broken into sections.

  • Weaponry Guide explains the various types of airsoft guns, bb ammunition and components. The information is intended to assist decision-making in selecting items that meet the player's needs.

  • Airsoft Roles looks at the roles players fill on the field and aids in choosing roles that best suit one's style of gameplay.

  • Equipment & Gear Guide discusses equipment used and advantages of putting more thought into what one carries into the field.

  • Airsoft Gameplay varies from field to field, team to team but many of the same basic rules apply in most games. This details the usual rules and information players should know before entering play.

  • Basic Combat Tactics goes over several basic airsoft tactics and how to employ them.

  • Airsoft Gun Maintenance & Procedures are just as important as charging the battery. Read these to keep the barrel clean and performance hot.

  • Airsoft Accessories includes miscellaneous items like speedloaders and tracer mags and how best to employ them to one's advantage.

  • AEG Upgrade Notes is NOT to be used as the only guide but provides tips and basics for selecting parts that do the job.
